» Bridge Builder CDS Program
Community Clients
Community Day Services (CDS) creates individualized programming for adults with developmental, physical and medical disabilities who are over the age of 18. The goal is to empower our residents and community clients to achieve their highest personal potential. Each person has his or her own individual plan and works on goals each day.
During CDS programming, our residents and community clients work on refining social skills, self-awareness, and how to respond in different situations, as well as skills they need in everyday life, such as financial management. Various types of therapy are also an important part of the day.*
Our Onsite Programs Include:
- Activities of daily living
- Pre-vocational and vocational skills training
- Recreational therapy with adapted sports leagues
- Aquatic therapy in our onsite pool
(Hyde & Wasmond Centers only) - Community/Vocational Integration
- Physical & occupational therapy
- Communication development
- Speech & language therapy
- Snoezelen/sensory therapy
- Leisure activities
- Music therapy
- and more.
Staff ensure that the residents and community clients receive a well-rounded host of experiences that afford them optimum growth opportunities.
Program staff includes a developmental instructor or QIDP, developmental trainers and aides. Staff nurses are on-site to address medical needs, and therapists and therapy aides support goals. In addition, volunteers join the team for outings and activities.
* The Bridge Builder CDS Program has additional BCBA support while not offering other therapies. Bridge Builder staffing also includes Registered Behavior Technicians and Job coaches.
