Gain Real-Life Experience
Although living with developmental disabilities, Marklund residents may be capable of volunteering off-site at businesses that provide specialized vocational opportunities. Through Marklund’s Community Day Services (CDS) program, residents and community clients are given the opportunities to build their vocational skills on-site with specialized goals, activities and jobs. Various therapies are included in the Personal Support Plans to assist in each person’s development. When possible, residents and community clients are equipped with communication devices, power wheelchairs and other specialized equipment that, when paired with job coaches, allow them to enjoy the experience of working at a job.
From packaging, sorting and assembling to greeting and socializing, our participants are willing to take on many kinds of specialized assignments.
